The following question was submitted to the 9/11 Commission by the 9/11 Family Steering Committee.
Why did Mahmood Ahmed, Director of Pakistan’s secret service, the (ISI) order Saeed Sheikh to wire $100,000 to hijacker Mohamed Atta?
What was Mahmood Ahmed’s relationship with Al Qaeda?
Where did the money come from?
Did officials in Pakistan know in advance about the terrorist attack?
On September 11 th , Mahmood Ahmed had a breakfast meeting in Washington, D.C., with House and Senate Intelligence Committee chairmen, Rep. Porter Goss and Senator Bob Graham. What were they discussing?
The 9/11 Commission also presumably heard about Lt. Gen. Ahmed from FBI Whistle-blower Sibel Edmonds during her 3 1/2 hours of testimony. At the insistence of the families. They may have also heard of Lt. Gen. Ahmed during a meeting with the Pakistani ISI. The 9/11 Commission did not answer the families’ question, and did not mention Lt. General Mahmood Ahmed in their report even though they were mandated to give a “full and complete accounting” of the 9/11 attacks.
Were you aware of his alleged activities? If you weren’t aware of these activities at the time of your meeting, did you hear of them afterwards? Did you make any effort to expose them? If so, who did you inform of your intention to expose these activities?
Will you support an entirely new investigation into the 9/11 attacks?
These questions, and many more should be answered by Barack Obama’s Vice Presidential running mate.
Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy is calling on the country’s top law enforcement official to ensure access for 9/11 victims’ family members to the military tribunal prosecuting Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and others charged as masterminds of those attacks.
For Mohammed’s arraignment Thursday before a military tribunal at Guantanamo Bay, the Pentagon secretly invited only one woman whose brother was a pilot killed in the plane that crashed into the Pentagon in the 2001 attacks. The woman, Debra Burlingame, was un-invited after the New York Daily News revealed she was a “GOP loyalist,” who praised President Bush during the 2004 Republican convention and has savaged the 9/11 widows who have questioned the administration’s actions.
“I had hoped we had achieved a level of respect for victims’ rights that would respect their dignity and interests,” Leahy wrote to Attorney General Michael Mukasey on Friday. “I am writing to you to urge you to help remedy these matters without delay.”
A Leahy press release distributing the letter noted reports that an “outspoken supporter of the Bush administration” was the only invitee to Mohammed’s arraignment.
Victims’ families had reportedly been kept in the dark after asking for the opportunity to attend Mohammed’s arraignment, while the Pentagon surreptitiously proffered its single invitation. After the uproar, a military official apologized and promised to institute a lottery for future tribunal proceedings that families wished to attend. Read the rest of this entry »
I heard about this on the way up to New Hampshire. Apparently Troy even asked Bob to put a bullet in his head (notice how Troy conveniently left that out). Mrs. McIlvaine was very shaken up by this, and understandably so. Troy has a history of harassing members of this movement by crank calling them on the phone (and he recently harassed 9/11 First Responder John Feal by calling him at least 30x according to John), but this is the first time his efforts focused on a 9/11 family member.
Fox News NEW YORK — The city has identified the remains of four more victims of the Sept. 11 attacks, including one man whose DNA was found beneath a service road that was initially paved over, officials said Monday
Ronald Keith Milstein’s remains were found beneath the road that was built to carry cleanup and construction trucks in and out of the World Trade Center site after the 2001 terrorist attacks, the city medical examiner’s office said. Milstein of Queens was 54 when he was killed.
More than 400 human bone pieces have been recovered from beneath the road, which has become known as “Haul Road” because of the hauling of debris.
Also identified was Alejandro Castano whose remains were found in the Liberty Street area, the medical examiner’s office said.
The 35-year-old from Englewood, N.J., was in the area that day to deliver pens and paper to a brokerage firm on the 97th floor of the south tower, his family told The Record of Hackensack, N.J.
For now, authorities are not releasing the names of the two other victims whose remains were identified. Their families will decide whether to publicly announce the names of the 52-year-old woman identified from remains found in the former Deutsche Bank building and the 59-year-old man identified from remains discovered on Liberty Street.

NEW YORK (CBS) ― There was outrage Monday night over another controversial ruling by New York City’s Medical Examiner.
Some say the ruling disrespects yet another first responder who worked on the debris pile at ground zero.
The family and friends of police officer James Godbee are furious.
“This is ridiculous, an outrage,” said Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association president Patrick Lynch said.
Lynch was speaking for many Monday in his fury at City Medical Examiner Charles Hirsch, who refuses to say a hero cop who died of lung disease after working for hundreds of hours at ground zero was a 9/11 homicide. Read the rest of this entry »

The remains of another victim of the World Trade Center attack have been identified, according to the New York City medical examiner’s office.
The remains were recovered in the last year from the main service road, which carries trucks to and from the pit, according to medical examiner spokeswoman Ellen Borakove.

9/11 family member and “Jersey Girl” Patty Casazza has just revealed that whistleblowers told her that — before 9/11 — the government knew the exact day, the type of attack, and the targets.
Why is this important? Because, previously, some of the best-known whistleblowers have been willing to give only vague information about the government’s foreknowledge. For example, they said only that the government knew of the general timeframe for the attacks, or that the government had a list of potential targets, on which the World Trade Center was one of many potential targets (of course, other whistleblowers have been more specific).
