Rick Shenkman, formerly managing editor of KIRO-TV in Seattle, has proclaimed seven habits of highly effective voters, starting with “Don’t believe what anyone says on the campaign trail.” In Just How Stupid Are We?, he elaborates on such advice, taking aim at the great national piety: the wisdom of the American people. He asserts that voters are misusing, abusing, and abdicating their political power and examines whether there is a way out of this slough. Presented by the Town Hall Center for Civic Life, with University Book Store
