We Are Change caught up with President Jimmy Carter today at a Barnes & Noble bookstore on Manhattan.After referencing Operation Ajax and the CIA orchestrated overthrow of Mohammed Mosaddeq in Iran in 1953, Luke Rudowski asked Carter if he feared another 9/11 attack on the United States as a lead-up pretext to an attack against Iran, a key neocon objective as of yet unrealized.Carter replied that he does not believe such an attack is as “likely as it was six months ago,” but he does not discount the possibility out of hand.

This is an important admission on the part of a former president, a trilateralist and government insider, and serves as further evidence the neocons may indeed attack Iran, as promised, before Bush leaves office.

Rudowski then asked Carter about Afghanistan and the Taliban. Carter said issuing a directive secretly aiding the Taliban in 1979 was “a very important thing for me to do” in order to counter the Soviets. Carter went on to describe the CIA organized and Saudi and Egyptian funded Mujahideen group as “freedom fighters.” Eventually a faction of the Mujahideen would break away and become al-Qaeda, another CIA contrivance put to use in the Balkans as well as Afghanistan.

In fact, as Zbigniew Brzezinski, Carter’s former national security adviser (and high ranking trilateralist under aegis of David Rockefeller) told France’s Le Nouvel Observateur in January, 1998, this aid “was going to induce a Soviet military intervention” in support of the pro-Soviet government in Kabul. “We didn’t push the Russians to intervene, but we knowingly increased the probability that they would.” Brzezinski’s “secret operation was an excellent idea… it had the effect of drawing the Russians into the Afghan trap… [and] giving to the USSR its Vietnam war.”

 The Department of Homeland Security’s National Exercise Program (NEP), the nation’s overarching homeland security exercise program, will conduct a combined exercise in May 2008 that will test hurricane preparedness planning, assess federal interagency Continuity of Operations (COOP) procedures, exercise a response to terrorist attacks in Washington State and test Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA).These linked exercises are referred to as National Level Exercise 2-08 (NLE 2-08).

The overall exercise scenario unfolds as a Category 4 hurricane threatens the National Capitol Region (NCR) while events in the Pacific Northwest include terrorist attacks involving weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in the state of Washington and an accidental release of a chemical agent at chemical stockpile facility in Umatilla, Oregon.The scenario culminates with the hurricane’s imminent landfall combined with a credible terror threat to the NCR which causes the federal government to invoke continuity plans and capabilities.Planning for NLE 2-08 began in late spring 2007 and is designed to achieve the following objectives:Exercise and evaluate federal government continuity capabilities and management of emergencies from dispersed locations.

Talk show host Rush Limbaugh is sparking controversy again after he made comments that appear to call for riots in Denver during the Democratic National Convention this summer. He said the riots would ensure a Democrat is not elected as president, and his listeners have a responsibility to make sure it happens.
“Riots in Denver, the Democrat Convention would see to it that we don’t elect Democrats,” Limbaugh said during Wednesday’s radio broadcast. He then went on to say that’s the best thing that could happen to the country.

As we all know, Norman Mineta’s testimony was never investigated or mentioned in the 9/11 Report. You would think that the “young man” that was involved in such an important moment during the 9/11 attacks would be named, and brought before the 9/11 Commission. He was not.

This clip is from C-SPAN’s 5/26/2005 taping of the “Washington Journal”. The caller clearly states that at the time the Pentagon was hit, Cheney was aware of the incoming plane according to Norman Mineta’s testimony. At the end of this segment, Lee Hamilton says that Cheney was “in the key position at the time”. Prior to that, he said that “the Vice President was in the operation room”, and “when the impact did occur.” To me, this sounds like Lee Hamilton just confirmed Norman Mineta’s testimony.

It wasn’t a question Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted to answer. “Arnold, can I get your comment on Kurt Waldheim, your friend?” Schwarzenegger immediately turned away.

After Luke Rudowski of We Are Change attempted to question Arnold about his relationship with former Nazi and Secretary-General of the United Nations, Kurt Waldheim, Schwarzenegger’s press secretary, Aaron McLear, stepped in and confessed complete — if completely unbelievable — ignorance of Waldheim.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Jerrold Nadler (NY-08), chair of the Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties today issued the following statement regarding the Second Circuit Court of Appeal’s decision that former Environmental Protect Agency Administrator Christine Todd Whitman is immune from liability for false statements she made about air quality and public safety after the collapse of the World Trade Center in 2001:

“I am deeply disappointed with the Second Circuit’s decision. There is a mountain of evidence demonstrating that Ms. Whitman and the Bush administration mislead the public about air quality in the aftermath of the collapse of the World Trade Center. By falsely assuring the public that the air was safe to breathe – when all the evidence indicated that it was in fact extremely hazardous – she caused thousands of residents, workers, and first responders to suffer injury and, in some cases, death due to unnecessary exposure to toxins released by the collapse of the World Trade Center buildings. Much of this evidence has been made public in hearings held last year by Senator Clinton and me.

Opposition to ‘Security and Prosperity Partnership’ intensifies

President Bush yesterday reaffirmed a commitment to progress the much maligned Security and Prosperity Partnership agenda, amid intensified opposition from commentators and critics concerned that the plan constitutes an undermining of national sovereignty.

At a private party to open the fourth North American Leaders’ Summit in New Orleans, Bush referred to recently encountered “setbacks” and told bureaucrats and business leaders “the meeting gives three friends the chance to come together to discuss our commitment to security and prosperity, to reconfirm the need for the three of us to work in harmony together for the good of our peoples. It’s a chance to talk about how we can best protect our people and extend prosperity.”

Bush told leaders from Canada and Mexico “Tomorrow, we will be meeting with the business leaders of the North American Competitiveness Council to listen to their specific recommendations… The United States has an opportunity to continue the trading agenda.”

The North American Competitiveness Council (NACC) is an advisory Council Comprised of 30 senior private sector representatives of North American corporations that were selected by the American, Canadian and Mexican governments at the June 2006 trilateral meeting in Cancun, Mexico.

Recently uncovered documents detailed how these corporate representatives have been urged to “humanize” North American integration, promote NAFTA success stories to employees and unions and evolve the harmonization agenda “without fueling protectionism”.

Luke Rudkowski indicates that two We Are Change activists have been unlawfully arrested outside of a speaking event with Laura Bush and Jenna Bush in New York.

Gary– an active member of the New York chapter– reportedly refused orders from the Secret Service to move from a sidewalk where the Bushes were entering the building. Shortly afterwards, while Gary was trying to ask Laura and Jenna a question, a plainclothes man escorting someone in a wheelchair started a fight, according to sources within We Are Change.

The fight was broken up, and both men were taken to a police precint. However, the man who started the fight was released without charges while Gary is still being held.

Inside the event, We Are Change reporter Matt Lepacek attempted to interject a question during Laura Bush’s speech and was reportedly dragged out by police. Rudkowski reports the police intentionally bashed Lepacek’s head against a door or wall. Lepacek used his cell phone to video the Bush question, but it was confiscated by the police. Lepacek previously stirred controversy when he was arrested for asking a member of Giuliani’s staff a question and subsequently arrested.

As of this report at 11 PM CST, both Matt Lepacek and Gary are still being held. Rudkowski has inquired at the precint station, but police have as yet refused to disclose the charges.

Phone calls from this office to Precint 19 in attempt to obtain accurate information about the charges resulted in rude behavior and several hang-ups, as well as a transfer to the NYPD’s Dept. of Public Information (a dead end).

FRIDAY HARBOR, San Juan County — The people of the San Juan Islands tend to be independent sorts, espousing a do-it-yourself, leave-me-be ethos as natural and ever-present as the tide.

But for many of the 17,000 people of this island county, the normal rhythms of small-town life have hit a dissonant chord lately.

A couple of months ago, the U.S. Border Patrol began occasional “spot checks” of every vehicle and passenger arriving in Anacortes off state ferries, the lifeline between these islands and the mainland.

For some here, it seems like a good idea or, at worst, a minor inconvenience. But for a vocal and active faction, the federal agents’ aggressive questioning and demands for identification have spurred outrage.

In the islands’ coffee shops and the editorial pages of the local paper, then in a crowded, heated meeting last month, a number of people have complained that islanders are being unfairly treated and questioned, even though they haven’t left the country and normally wouldn’t be subject to such scrutiny.

Terms like “police state” are hurled around, as they say the searches are illegal, unconstitutional — and just a ruse to catch illegal immigrants and petty drug users.

Al-CIAda sock puppet Ayman al-Zawahiri was quoted in an audiotape released today accusing Iran of behind behind 9/11 conspiracy theories, in another crude public relations stunt designed to generate hostile opinion towards the 9/11 Truth Movement.

The tape had been promised three weeks ago by monitoring group IntelCenter, who have been caught in the past putting out fake and misleading “Al-Qaeda” material via the alleged media arm of the terrorist organization As-Sahab, and was finally released today.

The set-up revolved around Al-Zawahiri’s responding to questions submitted by the public via the Internet.

One of the questioners asked about the theory that has circulated in the Middle East and elsewhere that Israel was behind the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon,” reports the Associated Press.

Al-Zawahiri accused Hezbollah’s Al-Manar television of starting the rumor.

“The purpose of this lie is clear — (to suggest) that there are no heroes among the Sunnis who can hurt America as no else did in history. Iranian media snapped up this lie and repeated it,” he said.

As anyone with even a superficial knowledge of the 9/11 truth movement can attest to, the sock puppet Zawahiri’s claim that Iran were the first to question the official 9/11 story is completely ludicrous.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s recent bumbling comments about 9/11, the date of which he cannot even accurately remember, were music to the ears of Neo-Cons who seized upon the statements as fodder to debunk the 9/11 Truth Movement.

NEW YORK — Former EPA chief Christine Todd Whitman cannot be held liable for telling residents near the World Trade Center site that the air was safe to breathe after the 2001 terrorist attacks, a federal appeals court said today.

In ordering the dismissal of the lawsuit, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals acknowledged that the EPA’s own inspector general had found the agency’s performance after the attacks was flawed. “But legal remedies are not always available for every instance of arguably deficient governmental performance,” the judges wrote.

The ruling came in response to a lawsuit by residents, students and workers in lower Manhattan and Brooklyn who said they were exposed to hazardous dust and debris from the fallen twin towers after Sept. 11.

The plaintiffs alleged that Whitman and EPA officials acting on her behalf made statements regarding air quality that failed to report or misrepresented health risks associated with the dust from the ruined skyscrapers.
