Co-presented with THE SEATTLE PUBLIC LIBRARY and the NORTHWEST PERENNIAL ALLIANCE. Dr. Peter Ward, a popular science writer and professor of paleontology at the University of Washington, this evening discusses climate change and its impact on species survival in one of many worldwide celebrations commemorating the 300th birthday of Carl Linneaus. Dr. Ward’s most recent book, Under a Green Sky: Global Warming, the Mass Extinctions of the Past and What They Can Tell Us About Our Future (Collins), examines the role of climate change and past cataclysmic extinctions, as well as the possible human-caused catastrophe to come. Free admission is on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Seattle Public Central Library is located at 1000 Fourth Avenue (between Madison & Spring).
